カイル・ブッシュ、リタイヤでチェイス最下位に

NASCAR第28戦ドーバー。通称『モンスターマイル』と呼ばれるトラックでの決勝レースは、ラウシュ・フェンディ・レーシングのグレッグ・ビファエルが先週に続いて連勝。 2位マット・ケンセス、3位カール・エドワーズと、ラウシュのフォードが1-2-3を独占した。 4位にはマーク・マーチンのDEIシボレーが入った。
レースは、終盤ケンセスとビファエルのチームメイト同士の戦いとなったが、残り8ラップでビファエルがトップに立ち優勝した。ラウシュ・レーシングは2005年11月に1位から4位までを独占して以来の快挙となった。
チェイススタート時点でランキングトップにいたカイル・ブッシュのジョー・ギブス・レーシングのトヨタ・カムリは、172ラップ目にエンジンブローによりリタイヤ43位に終わり、ランキングで12位とチェイスドライバーの最下位にまで落ち込んだ。ブッシュは先週のニューハンプシャー戦でもサスペンショントラブルで34位に終わっており、不運が続いている。また、デール・アンハートJr.も今回24位に終わり、ランキングを一気に5つ落として9位となった。
ドーバーが終わった時点でランキングトップはエドワーズ、2位にジミー・ジョンソン、3位にビファエルの順になっている。
